Favorite New Italian Spot in LA and their Story

White Tablecloths. Buttoned-up servers. A host walking you to your table. It’s the classic atmosphere of a familiar Italian restaurant. In all reality, this is more of an Americanized perception of Italian dining. Pasta Sisters, however, is the authentic Italian experience in Los Angeles. When you enter this Italian restaurant, you’re entering the home of Francesco Sinatra, his mother, Paola and his sisters, Francesca and Giorgia.

These Italian immigrants opened Pasta Sisters in 2015 as an homage to their upbringings in Padua, Italy. The recipes used at both their Mid-City and Culver City locations are the same ones that were written down by the siblings’ late grandmother, Maria Giovanna, in her diary. Pasta Sisters’ flagship Culver City location presents itself with an elevated fast-casual, West Coast vibe. The setting is warm, bright and inviting. When your dish arrives and you take a bite, you’re taken not to a fine Italian restaurant, but to the streets of Northern Italy. As Francesco puts it, “Everyone deserves a good plate of pasta.”
